Hobbyist animator here, let me explain how things work.
Animation is expensive, so if you want to make more than one episode of a series with your budget, you're bound to have to cut corners.
If you don't have much animation budget, at least make it funny to look at.

Made a @_Vinyl_Mix_ in show style for his birthday!

Something that was very important while storyboarding Luna's Determination.
Luna and Star Swirl were always framed on their side of the screen, so once Star Swirl is gone it feels wrong.
