One of the greatest accomplishments of animated Dragon Ball was completely rewriting Gohan's Great Saiyaman story. I wager almost anyone who thinks Gohan and Videl are DB's greatest couple have only seen the adaptation. The manga does practically nothing to set them up.

In terms of Paikuhan's design, he's just the freakish love child of Piccolo with second-form Cell. Hey, Mr. Toriyama. That face was ugly as sin the first time. We didn't need its triumphant return!
