Tentacruel contemplates the girl's sincerity and sadness, and decides to forgive the humans, warning that next time it will show no mercy. Misty says goodbye to Tentacruel, watching as it slowly disappears into the water.

Misty's battle pose from Pokémon Red & Blue was honored in her return for the Sun & Moon anime series. It also served as the mold for her HGカスミ (HG Kasumi) figure, created by Bandai and released on January 22, 2016.

In Pokémon Black/White 2 and Masters EX, there is a reference to the Pokémon Adventures manga, when Misty falls into Crystal's arms and says that the Gyarados and Omanyte she gave to Red and Yellow are her pride and joy.

@Grace_Pokefan1 And just as Misty and Marill make a connection with each other, they have to part but they do it with tears and smiles. Life is hard and Misty knows it very well. Although they never see each other again, they will never forget that day.

@Grace_Pokefan1 She helps Marill out of her sense of duty and because of her motherly side that was coming out of her since she got Togepi. The latter can be seen when she saves Marill and at first she wants to scold it but later she realizes that Marill is scared and sorry and hugs it.
