Hmm I have to revisit the look on the right but when I’m drawing my OCs it’s actually me jumping between the past and present all the time.

It’s not a drastic jump just 5 or 6yrs.
But a lot happens lol

So:
Arik/ Nasser = present
Ta’ka/ Nadak = past
All them together = present

It’s still fantasy + reimagining a culture. Basically what they did with Raya and Moana but for African Americans. My people were and are more than hip hop music /urban fashion. That’s just one side of us culturally. I can’t wait for the new year! Doing this has been fulfilling🥰

That whole Heroes are designed like this and villains like this , I hated.

Shape language is important don’t get me wrong but i wasn’t inspired by Western character design
