something like this could be like a very "basic" design for the aliens... with varieties based on all kinds of fish (and varieties of visor, looking like hair or a hat, etc etc)

A trope that I love but don't talk about much is cute swampy fish people (Moshi Monsters' Marsha, Sanrio's Hangyoudon, Don't Starve's Wurt)

I wanted to make my own "fish alien" creature for a while now, specifically based on butterfly fish. Because they're neat!! Fish with feet!!

I like the look of a special "visor" fin that keeps the sun out of their eyes when they walk on land (plus just looks like cute hat brim)

@bunhearts the design is entirely different and this is random, but i love cute apple-based character designs and i want them to meet the Apple Prince from Anpanman haha

I think in her original reference i listed her as being "8 years old" instead of 12, so she just grew a little since then!!
