Continuing the Mouse Boat Guide to Wildlife along the Cut - this morning with gnomes. Or rather, a gnome. I'm not sure why but he came out looking like Gregory Peck.
Another couple of entries for the 'Wildlife along the towpath' section. I realise I've drawn a hedgehog before, but this one's a different hedgehog...smaller, with a stripey bobble hat. I'm very thorough.
Time for a couple more 'wild animals along the towpath' scribbles, featuring a cow in wellies and a newt, doing what comes naturally to newts.
Continuing the Mouse Boat guide to wildlife along th' Owd Lanky, this fine day, with the not-really-that-cunning fox in its bright orange camouflage, and the extremely common shrew.
Along with the standard 'Preston to Carnforth' landmark-driven travelogue, 'The Mouse Boat Guide t' th' Owd Lanky Cut' will contain various sections and chapters on such diverse topics as 'Continuous Cruising Regulations', 'Ornathological Studies', 'Creepy Crawlies
I saw three mice come sailing in, on Christmas Day,
All bladdered up on gooseberry gin, on Christmas Day in the morning. They moored their boats and tumbled out, on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
And filled their heads with cheese and sprouts, on Christmas Day in the morning.
Good morning, everyone. Last boat moving day before Christmas today. It's good and cold and windy and appears to be chucking it down. Always the best sort of weather for an adventure.
I'm having trouble with the CRT again. They're accusing me (incorrectly) of not following the rules of continuous cruising. Again! This time, however, I have an email log and a written log, comprising dates, locations, distances and photographic evidence.
One of those easily disposable space filler illustrations for the book, this morning, to accompany the bit about the UCLAN sports' ground. And because Michelle suggested that the mice deserve names, this one's Clifford, I reckon.
I've decided to add some puzzles and games (Beano Summer Special style) to The Mouse Boat Guide t' th' Owd Lanky Cut - on the very slim chance that it might be raining and our readers are stuck on board a boat with nothing to do. (It has been known to rain in Lancashire... )
