@woot_art In recent years I've come to appreciate that two different artists looked at Megaman's big ol' anime eyes on his sprite and said "that's gotta be a visor or mask".
(Fil Barlow figures his TV hues were off when he drew a concept. But him STAYING green is on nobody correcting.)
