Today is #WorldWhaleDay ! Male Humpback Whales sing complex songs change season to season and can last up to half an hour before being repeated. During the winter mating season these songs tend to attract males to each other but the actual purpose of the song is unknown.

Today is #PenguinAwarenessDay. There are 18 species of penguin and one of the lesser known is the snares penguin. They are found on a small island, Snares Island, in New Zealand. Alike other penguins in their genus they have vibrant yellow crests on their head.
Today is #WorldOtterDay and pictured is the North American river otter. This playful species are excellent swimmers, using their powerful tails and webbed feet to propel them through the water. They eat a variety of food including fish, amphibians, crayfish and event turtles.
