Different stages of a painting.... One of my favorite things about painting is that I get to spend time in my own fantasy of where I want to be and the ability to change that reality.

As an artist you need to be ready when an inspiration comes. It can come suddenly overnight and you "write" it down on a small study. The idea later grows in more details on the bigger painting into something that hopefully can inspire others.

I'm pretty much done with the painting, just need to fix a bit inside the wave.
This one is proving to be a challenge to take a good photo of due to dark colors.I will be working on a better one, but for now this is pretty close. Acrylic 30x24

The first paint layer of a painting might not look like much, but slowly, layer after layer, with each brush stroke and detail added (and some sweat and tears) something beautiful emerges at the end...

Here's a little throwback while I'm working on my next project.
