This appeared in my feed, and I knew instantly that it was an AI-generated image, even though the person sharing it wrote the tweet entirely in Japanese.

How?

I mean, look at it. Look at this uncanny valley bullshit. You can just feel it. There's this inhuman smoothness to it.

Would anyone be interested in a phone case, mouse pad or whatever of these drawings?

I'm considering putting up some on RedBubble.

Done. It cost me nothing. It took a few seconds and no skill. It took no brains. AI artists are NOT artists.

None of the characters I feel most represented by look anything like me lol

Facts.

To put it shortly into words, this person thought that a pastel color palette in animation meant making everything bright, but Berserk looks pretty dark at times. What it does is that its color use is pretty desaturated and toned down to give it a serious vibe, that's it.

Kentaro Miura himself used different palettes. Casca looks darker in some illustrations, lighter in others.

It's called COLOR THEORY.

Quit your silliness, settle down.

Careful, next thing you know, you'll be accusing the man himself of whitewashing his own character.

Yeah, I'm a racist who hates dark-skinned anime girls, EVIDENTLY. You got me, you got me good, however am I gonna get myself out of this one?

Same character, different palette. Imagine not understanding basic color theory.

(Yeah, it's that time of day when I use arguing with idiots as a cheap excuse to promote my work, deal with it) https://t.co/exUCi7tqs1

The movies have a pastel color palette, it doesn't reflect real life as is. The more muted colors are a stylistic choice. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING looks more vibrant in the older anime. Stands to reason that a paler color palette will result in paler skin IN GENERAL.
