Between Two Worlds - Sketch vs. Final

To combat that, I'm pushing myself more and more to draw a line between reference and painting exactly what I'm seeing, especially in terms of shapes.

Reference gives you a, well, reference point as to how something would work in real life. What the correct length of limbs is, and how the light will fall on a certain surface.

I have been working on a super cool project - and I can't share the client yet. But suffice to say it'll be spooky and green 👀
