I do think Disney would want a theatrical release first. Especially thanks to the Playdate with Destiny short that came with Onward's theatrical and Disney choosing to continue the Bob's Burgers Movie in theaters than streaming on Hulu.

The Simpsons Movie 2 has been mentioned again but could possibly be a theatrical release or original movie for streaming like Disney+ due to Covid-19.
Personally, i would want it to be in theaters first as the demand for it is that strong, it would do big in the box office.
