I have a hard time with this story, too. Over and over again, it is called an ‘architectural eyesore’. I have a VERY hard time believing this statement. Was this kind of achievement so commonplace that it was considered annoying?!

What if these lenses could be reversed, gathering light, with a single focal point, to send out the equivalent of a laser beam?
