HOW did it take me two decades to realize that the pom-pom on the Chao’s Santa hats in this Adventure art is SEPARATED from the actual hat to resemble the floating orbs Chao naturally have above their heads??

@SourBulba I usually draw ‘em intersecting with a smooth curve, but sometimes tweak it depending on the expression he’s making. IMO, if he’s really grinning or something, it makes sense that the muzzle would kind of stick up a little. I think it helps emphasize the emotion. (bottom right)

As for me, I love the lore implications of the Adventure style (Gerald basing Shadow’s design off of the Super Sonic mural since he’s the ultimate lifeform) but I also love the modern style with the quills all up. I think it gives him a really powerful silhouette.
