I hadn’t done a comic since my days at RISD. Even just a few pages was really nerve wrecking. But I am so glad I participated in @hanadokikira volume 2! Here are a few panels from my 5 page comic featured in the anthology.

One of my favorite rewards for my supporters on patreon is "Liberation Library". I wanted to share one of my newest articles with you for free as a sampler. It talks about how femme energy has been inspiring my work since childhood

I want to sew together the deities and sacred traditions of the African diaspora, with afrofuturism, queer fashion and LOOKS, and the occasional C U T E spirit.
An acrylic, gouache, and colored pencil piece created by pulling the figurative image from abstract markmaking. Available today on https://t.co/TRceTl3Elu

I’m in the process of making a new small comic for a zine/compilation. I haven’t made a proper comic in YEARS. So here is a Flashback Friday to 2012 Odera comics at RISD.
This new comic is about to be uh...REAL DIFFERENT 🤗🤗🤗
Perhaps my favorite moments are anything to do with Oya.
I feel a spiritual & personal connection to Oya, and some of my favorite paintings I've done have been inspired by her. So seeing new takes are so...transformative!
TLDR: GO BUY Children of Blood and Bone by @tomi_adeyemi
Not only that but the use of Nigerian Orishas is hitting me in my spirit.
I've been doing alot of illustrations and paintings inspired by Orishas and Odinani, so reading @tomi_adeyemi's takes on them is so inspiring.
