Here is the original drawing that I made in as a template for my eventual professor character. Came out pretty well I thought!

Depending on puppet complexity, it be as quick or as long as you want. Obv the more effort the puppet has put into it, usually the faster the animation.
Not always. I created this fella in a couple of hours, and his entire body can move really well.
