I’m certainly not going to complain about Bernie Wrightson getting to draw demons and magicians and supernatural guns in the Marvel Universe… but what a silly little story this was.
PUNISHER #4: Frank learns that he has been manipulated by the demon Olivier ever since his family’s death, and that all of the blood he has shed since then has been fueling his power struggle in Hell. Of course, the angels haven’t treated Frank much better, so what’s a guy to do?
PUNISHER #2: Frank meets Gadriel, the angel responsible for returning him to life. If Frank ever hopes to be reunited with his family in Heaven—an eternal destination he has no hope of entering otherwise—he’s going to have to do Gadriel’s bidding & that means fighting a holy war.
BLACK PANTHER #2: While Black Panther is out assembling a team of criminal informants, State Department attaché Everett K. Ross is pantsless with the demon Mephisto. Awkward.
…certain similarities), & Ferry’s artwork isn’t to my particular tastes—though I always admit he does a pretty badass Iron Fist. Mostly, tho, the H4H feel as if they should remain at street level, and too often here they were dealing w/ forces much much larger. As always: YMMV.
