Fae's skills and magic is more powerful than Taffy's and the average unicorn. As she develops her skills she gains more Faerie characteristics and short bursts of power for complex spells.

Taffy was born with magical abilities and her golden horn. But her magic is weak and she studies magic under her older sister. Its genetic that she is a unicorn and Fae is not.
Maybe I'll draw Fae and Taffy's parents at some point uwu

Some people have asked how Taffy is a unicorn and Fae isn't- and how they're both magical!

-Fae was born normal and non-magical as an earth pony. She gained her abilities (and her one yellow eye) when she fell into a Faerie circle and received a magical blessing.
