It's that time of year again, the time for my all-new faithful sendup to the beloved Rankin/Bass style

i remember basing this bit of animation on something in particular, the idea of a door slamming open flipping someone upside down, but i'm having trouble remembering what it was exactly that inspired me at the time

all the ability designs have their little star icons from the games incorporated into them, as you probably noticed. ninja might not have been the best showcase of this because i think the symbol would be on the back for that costume

I had a bit of an internal debate as to whether his ability hats should simply overlap his default hat instead of exposing his ears but i decided against it since they look like weird growths most of the time. but hey, maybe it looks better and im not seeing it! what do you think

I have more things to say about this design i made but for now heres my imagining of him with shoulder pads
