In the late 1800s, Canada was determined to "catch up" with the US in terms of dinosaur collection. Thomas Weston was the first person to go on a government-sanctioned fossil hunting trip, and while he was there he wrote a poem!

May Kendall was an English satirist and poet in the late 1800s. She was interested in science, and the politics around science, during her time. This led her to publish in "Ladies Who Punch," a magazine which, despite the name, was aimed at young men.
