LOL I just found a sketch design from the same time (actually c. 2001!) for a transforming Kart for Cortex. I always liked drawing creepy versions of Dr. Cortex. I dunno, it seemed funny at the time. #CrashBandicoot

For @SamTheGuy3 here's a 2001/02 #CrashBandicoot counterpart to our creepy Cortex design, testing out different color schemes. We ditched the weird pink lips of @Naughty_Dog's Crash. Were Crash and Coco shaving or something? #Twinsanity #CharacterDesign
When Crash and Cortex find the Evil Twins' treasure room, we thought it would be fun to show that the twins had been using their technology to plunder other dimensions, and even other games. The treasure might include things that looked like Sonic's rings, Mario's coins etc. 2/5

Initially we planned to construct large, open levels, using custom geometry for the base terrain. However we found it time-consuming to iterate/make changes to the levels, and a challenge to keep the art style/texture resolution consistent across such large environments. 2/7
