In 2000 I went to Paris for the weekend specifically to see an Philip Guston retrospective at the Pompidou Centre with my studio mate Dan. For two days we did nothing but drink in that exhibition, sometimes together, sometimes alone...

How very lucky I am to have such a lovely and talented friend in @fionalumbers. When I was feeling glum yesterday, she drew a tree for me to sit in.

Honestly it wasn't the greatest start to the week. I carried a small cloud with me all day, but I resolved to embrace the gloom and see what good things might come from it. So I drew this.
