Misrepresentation in media builds insecurity & self-hate for many of those, young and old, who barely see themselves on TV. Especially as something other than what they are stereotyped.

@CHRONOLUSTRATOR @fandomtingz_ The idea of a passing light skinned woman & any-tone/dark skinned man is nothing new & has been a common media trope used for generations. The diversity is there, but a lot of pieces have been removed & remain missing.
