In #Shahnameh the 10th-cent. National Epic of #Persia/#Iran, benevolent bird #Simurgh protected Zal after he was abandoned. Zal's father mistook his white hair for a sign of #Ahriman due to ignorance. Zal survived, became a great general & fathered #Rostam, main hero of the epic.
