Hey #AnimalArtistsUnite ! I'm Philipp, a molecular biologist from Vienna experimenting with aquarell & ink lately. Not sure how picky we are with the animal definition, I hope unicellular holozoans (and our close fungal relatives, the amazing slime molds) make the cut as well ; )

Last, we discuss expansion of the miRNA repertoire with an emphasis of organization into families. miRNAs constantly expanded in conjunction with complexity, likely being one of the drivers allowing for the phenotypic complexity of present-day animals 6/6. Enjoy!
