Eiko Kadono's novel Kiki's Delivery Service has been out of print in English for years, but now it's available again with a new translation by @tiger! The book is delightfully charming and charmingly delightful.

I really hope to see more of Tomihiko Morimi's works translated into English—the novels The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl (transl. @tiger) and Penguin Highway (transl. @BuddyWaters), available from @yenpress, are both wonderfully strange and magical.

Matsuda Aoko's collection of interconnected short stories Where the Wild Ladies Are is phenomenal. Inspired by Japanese yokai and yurei tales (many by way of rakugo), the volume is modern, feminist, and an absolute delight.

An Unkindness of Ghosts by @cyborgyndroid is a tremendous work and especially impressive as a debut. I specifically picked the book up for its queer themes, but there's so much about this novel to appreciate.
