I thought it’d be interesting to share my #monster #design workflow. Usually I do a rough sketch of it. Then the front sprite based on the sketch. Then I do a basic 3d sculpt, to have a reference for the back sprite. And then I do the back sprite based on that. #pixelart #fakemon

I made a few sketches for evolutions of my bat mon, and this one I like most so far. There’s probably room for a third stage as well. What do you think? And some name ideas? #fakemon #gamedev

Oh man, this stuff is so useful. It helps me develop my sense of spatiality and check the lighting of my sprite. And it’s a pretty fast process. Nice new tool in my toolbox.
