Looking to talk Image, Valiant, Dark Horse, etc. Self-pub stuff or basically indie books of any era. 80s/90s Marvel and DC is also cool.
And also Power Pack!

Marvel: Silver Surfer Rebirth. The early 90s writer/artist SS team back with a new story that feels like it's right from the time period. These are my comics.

DC: Toss up between Nightwing and Supergirl, but since Supergirl ends today we'll give it Nightwing.

No my mistake. That's actually left over linework from this drawing. He clearly used the same art in the two images and adjusted them accordingly. I kinda think the colorist might have added the open eye holes on the 2nd one because the linework doesn't support them being open.

So my vote for Marvel's next entry in their "retro-continuity" line is to bring and Mark Bagley together for a new NEW WARRIORS story set during the team's original line-up days.

3. CAPTAIN AMERICA BY ED BRUBAKER OMNIBUS VOL. 1 (2004)

The first 13 issues of this series, now collected as the Winter Soldier GN, is probably the greatest super hero graphic novel ever produced. This book goes up to 25. The series that made me love Captain America.

4. CRIMSON (1998)

Hadn't read this series since it first came out. Always thought it was great but wondered how it held up. There were a few very late 90s/early 2000s tropes in there, but overall it held up great and I loved re-reading it.

Oh my god, I've never seen that one! I'm def gonna look for that next time I'm at a con!

I remember reading this one over and over again when I was a kid. And I remember that Silver Surfer issue Nazar posted from. Impossible Man was so much fun!

Who read Sandman/Locke & Key: Hell & Gone?

A great L&K story that continues from "In The Pale Battalions Go" while fitting perfectly into the Sandman story. Great stuff.

A perfect compliment to the current season 2 of L&K on Netflix and Act II of the Sandman Audio Play.

The end of the opening arc.

There's a lot of great stories ahead in this run, really fantastic stories. But these 13 comics, together, might possibly be the greatest super-hero graphic novel ever produced. Both writing and art is simply unmatched.

The amazing thing about the team of Brubaker/Epting is how it can take such fantastical concepts like costumed heroes & villains, Cap, Skull, AIM, Helicarriers, Crossbones, hologram buildings, cosmic cubes, and still make everything feel 100% grounded and from the real world.

There's gonna me a lot of talk about Brubaker, so I wanted to take the moment up front to just say that Steve Epting's art is AMAZING. The perfect artist for this series.

Also, telling the story from Red Skull's perspective was really cool, & that ending is still a shocker!
