Superdaddy. Heart of Gold. Loves to be larger than life, take care of innocent creatures, and is more connected to life than we can possibly imagine. But fundamentally understands that we are all connected. And we are put on this world to do what we can. #SupermanDay
Honestly, I'll never get over how Morrison's Action Comics is the big brained pitch for any modern Superman projects that gets him as an easy to sell concept. The hero, the cast, the Daily Planet, the overarching villains, the easy to create villain of the week, etc. Genius.
I think the geek in me would use Superman as an excuse to create even more totally out there landscapes and settings for Superman to deal with. Maybe catalogue and study for the Fortress's records. Take out evil colonizing agents. Help establish a familiarity.
Since I'm in a "DC science hero" kind of mood, I really do love the incredible amount of worlds, landscapes, and ideas characters like Superman (or any of his contemporaries on the League) could explore or venture to. From opposite worlds. Hell. The future. Or even war world.
I can't think of a fictional character that is larger than the genre they were created from and helped inspire than Superman. He walks in every one of those landscapes. Pulp. Sci-fi. Cosmic Gods. Human interest stories. International conflict. And yet, will never truly belong.
