So was the war in Vietnam. It wasn't going well. Protests, demonstrations and the perceived lack of respect for the military by students and radicals were creating a perfect storm of anger and discord in US life.
At #3: Break Dancing! This should only be attempted by men in their early 40s at wedding receptions they didn't want to go to in the first place.

Now at this point you're probably saying "Oh Action was brilliant: it was so violent, so shocking, it was debated in Parliament..." etc, etc.
But here's the thing...
Austrian artist Rudolf Sieber-Lonati painted many of the Larry Brent covers. His distinctive lurid style can be seen on the covers of many gruselromans from the 1960s and 1970s.
"Who is my favourite gothic romance cover artist?" Lou Marchetti (L) always had a great eye for the dramatic. Walter Popp (R) was also a great cover artist, though he did like making the gothic dress as long and folded as he could!
