Today's tasks is writing the notes for an upcoming DVD release, which has taken me, amongst other places, to this 1974 film, 99 AND 44/100% DEAD! Certainly must get the award for the strangest film title ever. I have this but have never seen it. Have any of you? Should I bother?
As it's Easter Monday night & technically still a holiday, I think it is time for a movie. From 1968, Gregory Peck and Eva Marie Saint in THE STALKING MOON.
Watched one of my favourite movies for a commission on new wave Australian film. From 1982, THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY. Apart from Mel & Sigourney smouldering on the screen, I love this film’s deceptively complex, albeit very 80s, engagement with Asian politics.
To mark his birthday, here's my annual homage to the wonderful glasses of Michael Caine.
Perfect viewing on an incredibly hot Melbourne night, from 1972, George A. Romero’s SEASON OF THE WITCH aka HUNGRY WIVES. Seriously, the early seventies produced some great films about the ennui of being a middle class wife but this must be one of the most underrated examples
Reorganising my bookshelves today & found this. THE HAMLYN BOOK OF HORROR, published by Hamlyn in 1979. A gift from my late parents in a Christmas past & for many years one of my most treasured possessions. Did you ever have this @ScarredForLife2 ?
