Liked the original tweet to let me talk about Lusamine too. Basically two of the same issues I had with Ghetsis, only her organization (Aether Foundation) has a legitimately good purpose so it gives her the veneer of being a "good person" that she purposefully plays into.
Since I've still got the Bulbapedia tab open, here's another, more serious Pokemon example. Ghetsis is an abusive parent, the leader of a dangerous terrorist organization, basically an animal abuser if we count all Pokemon as animals, and just all around nasty.
Starting off *really* mild. Bede does improve over the course of the story, especially once he's under Opal's guidance rather than being Chairman Rose's special sponsor project, but he's still an arrogant lil butthead for way too long for me to appreciate his growth properly.
