Brass tacks, I eventually landed on a comp that just really got to me in subtlety and poise. Basing the idea more off romanticism while using the aesthetics of the Gibson girl crossed with deep sea fauna, I came to the final piece as seen ~ <3

Now to get to the final piece for the @/regaliazine I went through a litany of other designs and concepts before I really started coming close to the final. Ideas continued to revolve around mermaid or nautical themes. Longing or ethereal grace being key ideas I revolved around.

Experimenting with line art that better fits my natural rhythm.

But to be fair to the @/regaliazine I had many other ideas prior to even the "deep-oceanic" vibe I fell in love with. Some ideas being yellow-king flapper, glass-headed debutante romance, mod-fashion flesh, or reduxes on the tooth fairy.

Sorry about the whole drought of art on here. Between a move coming up that'll hopefully be for the better and an attempt at new meds that will staple me to a single spot, I've been kind of grey clouds through and through. But hopefully once it comes to pass I'll be back on it.
