it's interesting that the new Patrick Starfish prequel spinoff seems to take inspiration from both Patrick's fake and real parents from season 1

Adam Ellis stole a comic. Invented a fake "earlier" version of that same comic to get out of it, his fans then harass the original artist. Evidence on his archived website proves that said comic does not exist, and the art style / minor graphics effects do not match up
