Guess who's got two thumbs and just about all flu-like symptoms?
Coin Operated Clone - By Vincitta (@vancitta) & Natasha Marie
This comic really hooked me in with its premise, and the first panel alone blew me away. It's got solid writing and artwork, and does a great job using environmental storytelling for the more subtle details.
Every Moment Of Spring - By Randoxide (@Randoxide)
Very few completed stories were submitted this year, but this comic was one of them. I was particularly impressed with the dialogue, which is very passionate and shows clear thought and intent put into the characters.
Vampirism - By Laurel Matches (@laurel_matches) & Lea
Coincidentally, there were two very different series about modern-day vampires that were nominated this year! Vampirism has excellent attention to detail when it comes to vampire lore, and sets up tension excellently.
Campbell and Kei: ThrillerKnights for Hire - By KngKobun (@KngKobun)
This series strongly reminds me of the type of comics I used to read on DeviantArt way back in the day: Rough around the edges, but a solid read with a crazy amount of unique characters. Just look at them!
Saffron Wave - By Kellerybird (@kellerybird)
Saffron Wave takes the Magical Girl sub-genre and provides a refreshing twist to it by setting it in ancient Greece. The artwork is very polished, and the page compositions seem fairly advanced for a nice reading experience.
@LostLeanore Thanks for the thread!
I'm working on SPACE WASTERS, a sci-fi comedy webcomic about an incompetent crew boldly going where no one would be stupid enough to go.
It's been awesome working on the series, and we're just getting started! Here's the first 3 pages for those curious:
@ArtieTom @jamilsart @SeeTheRabbit Hoo boy, let's see what we've got here...
💰💎💀😡💢
...yeah, sounds about right.
I couldn't stop thinking about the latest update from Roxanne From Hell by my pal @pixie_press and how these two panels in particular were ripe for text-editing potential. So I got to work.
Enjoy!
