Train Beer Friday: Rail Spike IPA by @RustyRailBrewCo in Mifflinburg, PA. This hop bouquet is produced just steps away from the former Pennsy subsidiary Lewisburg and Tyrone Railroad in Buffalo Valley not far from the Susquehanna River. The RR is now the Buffalo Valley Trail.

Finished the mock combined VA/NC Combined Intercity Schedule post Long Bridge/DC2RVA/SEHSR/S Line. Also can be viewed in Doc at https://t.co/KpF0PciJW6 (comments are on). This is not what the schedule will be, just a possible vision around 2030-ish. Notes & assumptions below...

Historic Cotton Belt map (officially, the Saint Louis Southwestern Railway, controlled by Southern Pacific after 1932). DART bought 54 miles for what became TEXRail & Silver Line in 1990 (maps for both also below), prior to SP's merger with Union Pacific.

Every time I hear about the barriers to electrification in N. America, I'm like: ok, but you know there was an electrified, double-tracked trolley line *thru* the Niagara Gorge on the U.S. side & above it on the Canadian side from 1895-1935, right? It crossed the border *twice*⚡️

Interestingly, the Erie-Lackawanna's passenger operations truly combined the best routes each predecessor had to offer: the DL&W from Hoboken to Binghamton, then the Erie from Binghamton west & north. The E-L's Phoebe Snow did Hoboken-Buffalo in 7h, 55m.
