Comics were my comfort as a young lady and I wanted to share a story that might comfort anyone in a similar place.
I always felt stuck, like I wasn’t growing and getting where I needed to at the same rate as my peers. So I made Jeanne. I was 16.

Jeanne is the French variant of my middle name, my grandma’s name, and my Confirmation saint from middle school: Joan of Arc. She was burned at the stake for heresy and legends say a dove rose from her ashes.
