This is just my personal opinion, but in recent years Jagex made two updated Imp models.
*Personally* I much prefer the first image compared to the latter two images and wish they had stuck with that. First is used in the Infernal Source (Mephisto imp) and for the Howie pet.
The 'Military Forces of the Late Third Age' lore was also written for Expansion 2. Despite the fact expansion 2 was never released, the lore was shared at RuneFest 2017. Much of this lore also helped in creating the Archaeology skill.
