Borealopelta (Northern Shield) from the Lower Cretaceous of what is now Alberta was so well preserved it still had the stomach contents of its last meal. They seemed to have a preference for ferns, but charcoal was also found suggesting it had fed at a recently burned forest.

The Gargano Penninsula of Italy was once an island during the Miocene and like many islands the animals evolved into many unusual endemic species. Like this Hoplitomeryx, a small deer-like animal with 5 horns and large canine teeth.
