📙: Now It’s Fall by Lois Lenski

Lenski was born #OTD in 1893. Is it a coincidence that in Lenksi’s books about seasons, fall is clearly her fav AND she had an autumn birthday? Is your birthday during your fav season?

Her book with illustrator Beni Montressor, May I Bring A Friend? won the 1965 Caldecott medal.

To celebrate Beatrice, Beni and this beautiful book we’re creating miniature diorama that will be embedded in the wall. (2/3)

As part of our exhibit for The Funny Thing by Wanda Gág, we wanted to give a nod to her most well-known work, Millions of Cats. Some kitties will be along the ridge of Bobo’s mountain, and resemble beloved, feline family members of Rabbit hOle staff.

“Once upon a time, there were three cuddly little wolves… The first was black, the second was gray, and the third was white.” All 3 of our little wolves are now painted and enjoying their lunch.

It was Arnie the Donut. (Story is that he’d once had a pretty close encounter with some pearly whites, and it haunts him to this day.)
