OTD in 1830, the first public passenger train of the Mainline Era departed Liverpool at 7.48. Headed by "Pheonix" it carried 130 @BritishQuakers for a business meeting in Manchester. The journey took 1hr 50 minutes. The train consisted of 2 "curtain" and 3 "close" coaches.
