@nyanilla_ In Monster Hunter Rise, there are several "baby" monsters whose adult counterparts do not show up. Most Notably are Basarios and Gravios, as well as Tetsucabra and Tetsy, the baby that Guild Master Hojo keeps as a pet.

@theaaronschmit I think I'm the first one to go with an anime for this. It's called Sparrow's Hotel and ngl this image kind of encapsulates what I remember of it.
