Sudden blustery downpours shake the unseen canopy. I hear the wetness of hundreds of leaves being blown & battered. These sounds momentarily dominate but interestingly don’t overwhelm just calm the morning chorus. The forest breathes.

Almost breaching the surface, pushing against the resistance of the water tension
Caught between the watery world they’ve been born to beneath & the kiss of air above; a promise of a new life of winged freedom to come

Females hovering b4 selecting a boom, staying longer to collect both nectar & pollen.
Males taking quick sips to keep fuelled up to patrol for females.

& the beautiful expansive sleeping mountains of Wonderful feeling to sit amongst the frosted burnished bracken listening to the gently flowing burns & gazing across to snow capped
