For #FindsFriday the Ryedale Hoard, the assemblage of Roman copper alloy objects sold into private hands yesterday. I was fortunate to see it in the flesh when it was being recorded with @SWYOR_FLO @findsorguk – it's clearly wrong that no-one else now can https://t.co/Tk4hnOlGio
These little copper alloy Tudor period buttons have a simple elegance. Cast in one piece with a solid head and substantial integral shank, they are tactile and evocative. These four are from the Leeds area and recently recorded @findsorguk with @SWYOR_FLO #FindsFriday
Sadly, museums can't yet host @findsorguk surgeries with @SWYOR_FLO (finders please contact Amy.Downes@wyjs.org.uk), but here are some recent finds from the nine S & W Yorkshire authority areas, starting with #Barnsley
@CannonHall1760
@EBMuseum
@BarnsleyMuseums
@BarnsleyCouncil
This week it's the turn of @LeedsMuseums to host S & W Yorks region Portable Antiquities Scheme, @findsorguk, Finds Surgery: Thursday 23 Jan, 1-3pm @KirkstallAbbey Visitor Centre. Discover the PAS, and #RecordYourFinds with @SWYOR_FLO – like these recent ones from the Leeds area
