Wavetale was a great surprise. It's an indie action-adventure that feels better to play than many with 8x it's budget, carrying a wholesomeness in its art-style, tone, and characters that made me want the demo to not end.
TL;DR: YOU RUN ON WATER!
The medieval tactic of putting gold plating on your nipples before charging into battle.
The presentation in SIGNALIS is absolutely phenomenal, with even a main-menu that intrigues. It's homages to Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid are just that, supporting an original art-style and atmosphere that's as palpable as both. I'm still thinking about the demo's ending.
Gloomwood doesn't recreate Thief, it recontextualizes the core stealth, movement, and atmosphere of it's most intense levels to deliver something completely unique. The sound-design is particularly superb, been a while since I stopped in my tracks just hearing a monster.
Assuming no copyright claims or midnight errors, new video tomorrow!
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is SO much better than I gave it credit for as a Teen. After rewatching the whole franchise, this might be my favorite of them all.
Completed Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig again, and the rewatch only confirmed how much I love it. Everything from Yoko Kanno's music to Kenji Kamiyama's world building is phenomenal. Hard to believe it's a fifteen year old TV show.
