because then we make a REALLY big departure from character and get this... it s veiry sudden. The worry and the fear feel a bit played up because I don't buy that Surge cares for Kit this much yet. She still feels like a selfish & mean girl, which is the same issue that Belle had
Her relationship with Kit is by far the most interesting one she has, but this also doesn't get the time to breathe. By the time #55 rolls around she's certainly mocking him less, but going from that to suddenly wanting to protect him feels like a REALLY big jump...
And that should be it, right? She doesn't want anything to do with Starline anymore, she rather kill everyone. That should have been the end of her conflicts... but then the Dreaded Spectre of Daddy Issues starts to haunt her too HAHA (boo!)
Surge starts off in a similar place of missing a key piece to her past: namely her memories. She briefly tries to find out what these are but then opts into a doomsday approach instead, deciding she was abandoned by the world.
Onto Surge!! I was super excited for her because I love Scourge!! And there's no way not to compare them. They're both asura coloured punk Sonic-clones who want to kill him bad. But there's a big key difference between them... Scourge is fun but Surge isn't LMAO
