We were super excited yesterday, as we got to see
- the @BFI preview of bold, funny & uncompromising #AClockWorkOrange
- a great panel on #Kubrick with his producer Jan Harlan, daughter Katerina, @DesignMuseum's Deyan Sudjic & Alan Yentob;
- AND the carpet from #TheShining
While arrested, he cured a Turkish official's daughter and was offered to convert to Islam and marry her, but he refused. His wife wrote to the German embassy asking for help, and cut her ties with Germany, blaming them for supporting Turkey after his cruel torture and death.
It's Rupen Sevag's (#ՌուբէնՍեւակ) birthday today - a wonderful poet and a beautiful soul, arrested and killed with #Varoujan. He was born in 1885, and after studying medicine in Switzerland, he returned to Constantinople in 1914 with his German wife. #rubensevak #rupensevag
