Although not an MP40 as its a HMG38 you are not wrong about the 20th century weapons as I think the XM8 rifle is canon IIRC, but i also thought this was MP40

OK, I managed to finish an actual project, I am pretty proud of it, a Battle rifle modelled after the design by @Ikki_Day. I did my best to keep the elements of the original design, along with functional internals, well close to anyways XD gonna post some more pics below :3
