Many Indigenous comic book characters started off as lazy stereotypes only to be slowly evolved into 3 dimensional heroes. What indigenuous character would like to see modernized or given a 2021 makeover?
Our last spotlight is American Eagle. His physical stats were enhanced to superhuman levels due to a mysterious radiation, but there's nothing mysterious about what makes him a compelling character: and a strong connection to his Navajo heritage and being a straight-up badass.
Of all the DC's characters, Sarah Rainmaker may have the richest potential. She's an activist with the metahuman ability to command the weather, as well as being a proud member of the Apache and the LGBTQ community. We gave her a spotlight in out Indigenous Characters episode!
