I got an email from a parent whose kid has been re-reading STAR THE ELEPHANT, studying details in the pictures. On 4th read, he asked what animals these are (bottom panel) and what they are eating.

Answer: Wild boar (the piglets have longitudinal stripes), and durian fruit.

I am tickled pink that this gets to be my author photo in my 2022 graphic novels (only in the Australian edition because we didn't have enough pages for an author bio in the US edition).

Mostly, I exist in the acorn of doubt. Many times my agent and editor and friends pull me over to the Queen of Everything side, at which point I slide over to the sweet spot (before slowly slipping back to the acorn of doubt).
